Maria is an Associate Attorney at Lagomarsino Law. She joined the firm as a Law Clerk in May 2022 after completing her first year of law school. She has a particular interest in civil rights litigation and employment law, as well as a passion for serving the Las Vegas community. Born and raised in Guatemala, Maria moved to Las Vegas at the age of 17, bringing with her a rich cultural background and fluency in Spanish.
Maria began her higher education at a local community college, where she was recognized as the Outstanding Student for the Social Sciences Department. She then transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in philosophy. During her time at UNLV, Maria interned with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, volunteered as an educational surrogate, and was selected to participate in the prestigious NEW Leadership program, which empowers women through leadership and civic engagement training.
Maria continued her education at the William S. Boyd School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor with a concentration in dispute resolution. During law school, she served as secretary of the Workplace Law Club, was an active member of La Voz and the Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and was recognized as a Community Service Program Outstanding Student. Through these organizations, she volunteered her time assisting Spanish-speaking families with their legal needs.
Outside of her legal practice, Maria enjoys painting, exploring new coffee shops, learning more about sociology, spending time with her dogs, and connecting with friends and family.
